2025 has been a good year for our recording.
BLK 140257, a Duncraggan Smashing Stuff 103 daughter who runs in our Primeston herd, was named an SA Stud Book National Elite Platinum Beef Cow for 2025, the top tier of the cow awards. She was a Silver Elite cow in 2024 and has gone one better.
Duncraggan Beef Shorthorns also received a Silver Award in the 2025 Logix Elite Awards, which are scored on how completely and how promptly a herd records its animals. As the award notes point out, there is little use in weighing animals if the figures are not then used to improve the herd. We agree entirely.
Allistair is also listed this year among the Beef Shorthorn Society’s senior inspectors.
