Good news from Australia. Malton Jackson, a son of Spry’s All Gold D052, was named supreme Shorthorn at the Royal Melbourne Show on 26 September 2015. Peter Falls of Malton Shorthorns, who paid $25,000 for All Gold at Spry’s 2011 sale, reminded the judges where Jackson’s thickness comes from.
It is not a one-off. Back in 2013 All Gold sons took two reserve championships for Bayview at the National Shorthorn Show in Dubbo, and his sons topped Malton’s bull sales in both 2014 and 2015.
We bought the South African semen rights to All Gold in 2008, after Laurence saw him as a calf at Spry’s. Seeing his sons do this well on both sides of the Indian Ocean is very satisfying. His grandsons are coming through in our own herd now.
